The past year I was living in abroad at the American Academy in Rome, making visual art. So this is my first public performance in over a year. Back onstage with such amazing singer/performers as Rinde and Susan is a pretty great way for me to get back in touch with my warrior instincts, my inner stage animal.

There are lots of presenters here at the Festival, from all over the world, and hopefully “Orpheus X” will have a life being this. We are already booked for Hong Kong in February.

Tonight over drinks after the show, someone who had seen the performance said to me “So what do you do in real life?” It made me wonder if non-performers are aware of how much work and preparation goes into something that is meant to register as–inevitable, if not effortless…
